rmdir

$ rmdir -p {directory}
  • rmdir – remove directory
  • This deletes a directory.
  • The directory must be empty of both files and sub-directories otherwise you will get an error.
    • Example:
      $ rmdir Temp
  • You can delete several directories with a single command.
    • Example:
      $ rmdir Temp1 Temp2 Temp3
  • There are several flags that you can use to delete get a very powerful delete option.
    • -r Recursively remove directories and subdirectories
    • -f Remove all files,whether write-protected or not in a directory without prompting the user.
  • While not ‘technically’ a directory removal command, it does the job.
    • Example:
      $ rm –rf Temp
